- Minutes from previous meeting.
All agreed that they were okay.
- Feedback on most recent rally/event from all
All at the meeting who had attended Bish’s Brussel Sprout Antidote run agreed it was a really good day out. Thank You Bish! The dirty car competition was discussed; it was decided that we would turn this around and have the best presented car competition at future static events. This will start with the Mount Edgecumbe meeting and Len said that he could ask for a judge to be arranged for this at Mount Edgcumbe !
Rosie would like to point out that she has tested both the cars her daddy won in the competition and the YELLOW one is better by far J (editorial interference detected: Tigger)
3. Future Events.
February :
11 th - Janet and Richard’s bash – This looks like a good one. Janet told us she has arranged live music and there will be plenty of food laid on. All we need to do is turn up with a bottle; there will be a Black and/or White Theme. She has also arranged safe parking for our cars! There will be a pre-meet at the back of the the Esso petrol station at Chiverton at 19.15 for 19.30 leaving. We will then convoy down to Carnhell Green. Janet and Richard really need an idea of how many will be attending so they can work out food supplies. Please could you let us know by e-mailing Emz or phoning Emz by the next meeting at the latest?
Attendees so far: Emz and Nigel, Tigger and Kathy (possibly), Jeff, Sharon and Gary , bish, Keith W and Sue, and possibly Vanessa and Nick.
March:
Date to be arranged – bish is arranging a Mini Factory tour in Oxford . He will provisionally book 30 places. Again please let us know if you are interested in attending. It was also said that it will be thrown open to MINI2 members to make up numbers as necessary.
Interested so far are: Emz and Nigel, Tigger, Vanessa and Nick, Janet and Richard, Keith W and Sue and Jeff.
April:
22 nd - Bryan ’s 40 th Birthday run.
Bryan to tell us more at next meeting.
June/July: Poole Run to be arranged
August:
6 th – Mount Edgcumbe . Emz has downloaded some information on car rallies from a website. From this we have discovered that Mount Edgcumbe and Porthleven RNLI clash this year. All present agreed that we should attend Mount Edgcumbe . As mentioned above we also agreed that we should run a competition for best presented car on the day. Len said that he was sure he would be able to ask the lady who contacts him about the rally, to arrange for a judge for this. So get waxing Guys! (your cars that is J ).
Emz to print or attach web address for rally info webpage in newsletter.
In General: We also agreed to look at which months we are short for runs and see if there were more rallies for us to attend.
Jeff and Richard are looking into the Castle Coombe John Cooper challenge days for some time during the summer.
We agreed the beach runs were good in the summer and we should do them again but they are better arranged at short notice due to Cornwall ’s climate! We shall keep one on the runs list, but it will be arranged at short notice.

Vanessa informed us that the total in the clubs funds is £101.41
The Venue for future meetings was discussed at length. It was suggested that it may be of some benefit for the club to meet further down west in Cornwall , in order to secure both present members and others who may be put off by the journey up to Colliford Tavern. Richard and Jeff have been looking for a suitable location and have suggested The County Arms in Truro .
The County Arms will provide us with an area for no fee if we wish or as numbers grow we could hire a conference room for £28. This would include food and free tea/coffee, this being the case we would only need 7 members present at a meeting for us to pay £4.00 each which is cheaper than buying drinks and food as many of us do now.
Please note that since the meeting these details have been clarified as £35 for the room with free tea and coffee, although a buffet can be provided (optional) at £3.50 a head over and above the £35.
It was agreed that we should give everyone an opportunity to test out the County Arms and so we plan to meet there at 12.00 noon on Sunday 8 th January. Those who attend will then take a vote on whether we should make The County Arms our meeting venue for next month. If we do we will then take a vote at next months meeting on whether to make this permanent or not.
Emz and Tigger to e-mail or phone those who could not attend meeting.
Please note: The meeting was held at The County Arms and it was decided to hold the next meeting there.
Meeting concluded at 9.20pm
Next Meeting Venue to be agreed (see comment above)
